Event in Bogotá brings together Latin American leaders to build a common agenda for development and democracy

RenovaBR participated in the immersion "When We Need It Most! Amplifying Latin American Leadership for a Global South Movement," held on October 8th and 9th in Bogotá, Colombia. The meeting brought together representatives of more than 40 organizations from 14 Latin American and Caribbean countries with the goal of strengthening regional leadership and defining a joint action plan for the region's development and global agenda.

Promoted by Better Politics Foundation, in partnership with Imago Global Grassroots (Vozes Novas), Balloon Latam, Obama Foundation and Emerger Fund, the initiative promoted spaces for analysis, dialogue and collaborative design, stimulating exchanges between civil society leaders, social enterprises and non-governmental organizations.

RenovaBR's Director of Institutional Relations, Gabriel Morais, represented the organization during the two-day immersion, where participants discussed democracy, sustainability, inclusion, human mobility, and social innovation, with a focus on repositioning Latin America as a protagonist in the global development agenda.

The collaboration focused on developing a five-year action plan to guide the region's repositioning within global development as a whole. The event also included a networking meeting with representatives from Bogotá's democracy and development ecosystem, held at the headquarters of Acción Técnica Social.
