RenovaBR held the second edition of “Brazil in Debate”, iinitiative that aims to strengthen, expand and qualify the debate on priority agendas of the National Congress. The chosen theme was Low Carbon Economy, strategic at a time when federal deputies and senators must vote on projects that must be announced within the Green Package, from the Ministry of Finance.
With three panels, the event took place in Brasília and featured the participation of leaders trained by values, in addition to other parliamentarians. The following deputies participated: Samuel Viana, Pedro Aihara, Daniel Trzeciak, Thiago de Joaldo, Jorge Goetten, Bandeira de Mello, Luiz Carlos Hauly; deputies Professora Goreth and Adriana Ventura; and senator Alessandro Vieira.
The first panel, mediated by Abram Neto, CEO of AmCham Brazil, addressed the country's context in the green agenda. Participating Nabil Kadir, Superintendent of the Environmental Area of BNDES; Marcel Fukayama, Head of Global Policy at B Lab; Joaquim Levy, Director of Economic Strategy and Market Relations at Banco Safra; and Ronan Damascus, National Director of Technology at Microsoft in Brazil.
In the second, mediated by our founder Edu Mufarej, the discussion revolved around the challenges of expanding the carbon market in the country, with the participation of Eduardo Bastos, CEO of MyCarbon; Natalia Renteria, Head of Policy at Biomas; and Roberto Rodrigues, Former Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. Each panelist brought their experiences with the market.
Finally, with the mediation of CEO of RenovaBR Patricia Audi, the third panel addressed the role of the Executive and Legislative branches in regulating the market and the understanding of this agenda by political agents. Participating Rodrigo Rollemberg, Secretary of Green Economy, Decarbonization and Bioindustry of the MDIC; the senator Alessandro Vieira, leadership values; and Marcelo Ramos, Special Consultant at Petrobras.
